Anna Fendley, Director of Regulatory and State Policy for the United Steelworkers (USW),  joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed how the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductor (CHIPS) for America Act doubled down on the investment in the nation’s manufacturing sector and what it will mean for union labor.

Fendley praised the Biden Administration for the passage of the bill. She called Biden the most pro-Buy America and most pro-union president the nation has ever seen. Fendley hailed the bipartisan efforts of the legislatures to reinvest in American manufacturing, adding that the passage of the CHIPS Act was a unique moment the nation needs to embrace.

She also talked about how the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act are investments in unions and working people. Those bills will create jobs for working families, added Fendley.

Lastly, she spoke about the IndustriALL Global Union – a global federation of industrial trade unions that fights for better working conditions and rights around the world.
