Willy Myers, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of Columbia Pacific Building and Construction Trades Council, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the Intel plant in Oregon and its impact on the community.

The Columbia Pacific Building and Construction Trades Council is an umbrella organization representing 20,000 union construction workers employed by more than 2,000 signatory contractors in Oregon.

Myers shared his perspective on the podcast in order to give Ohioans a taste of what to expect from the planned $20 billion Intel plant coming to central Ohio.

Intel first moved to Oregon in the 1970s and currently employs 20 to 50 percent of the state’s construction workforce. He detailed the economic impact the company has had on Oregon communities and explained why Ohioans should expect to see a profound economic impact from the new plant.
