Joyce Goldstein, a Labor and Employee Benefits Lawyer at Joyce Goldstein & Associates, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the National Labor Relations Board’s challenge of the Kroger Company’s ban on Black Lives Matter buttons in the workplace.

The NLRB is considering whether the buttons are protected free speech and should be allowed in the workplace, Goldstein explained.

She also discussed how the Third Circuit Appellate Court’s reversal of an NLRB decision that found FDRLST Media, publisher of the conservative online news magazine The Federalist, unlawfully threatened its employees when its CEO tweeted about sending employees “to the salt mine” if they tried to form a union.

Finally Goldstein detailed a North Shore AFL-CIO Federation of Labor forum event in Cleveland, where she heard Amazon Labor Union Organizer and President Chris Smalls speak.
