The Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, Rich Fiesta, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and spoke about the Alliance Congressional Voting Record for 2022.

The Voting Record is used by the Alliance to provide its members with information on how members of Congress voted. Fiesta explained the Voting Record’s rating system, and shared that several members of Congress have perfect scores. By providing this information to ARA members at the start of campaign season, he hopes voters will use it and vote for those in office who support retired Americans or vote against those who have low scores.

Fiesta also discussed the Inflation Reduction Act and how it has impacted the lives of retired Americans. Many retirees saw their monthly prescription cost for Insulin drop to $35. This change is a result of the power given to Medicare to negotiate prices with medical companies. He feels the law has worked since two insulin manufacturers agreed to provide insulin to those not on Medicare for no more than $35 a month.
