Jeff Stoffer, Director of Media and Communications at the American Legion, joined America's Work Force Union Podcast to discuss two stories in the January edition of the American Legion magazine focused on the evolving role of veterans with the National Park Service and the important role of missile defense systems.

Stoffer started by discussing a story in the upcoming edition of the American Legion Magazine that looks at the complexities of international missile defense systems and emphasizes the United States' leadership in this field. He highlighted the effectiveness of U.S.-developed technology, as most missiles are being eliminated by interceptors. This capability, he explained, is a testament to decades of research and development

In addition to defense, Stoffer explored another story that outlines the role of veterans in the National Park Service. He shared stories of veterans who have found a new purpose in preserving America's natural and historical treasures. Stoffer addressed the challenges of veteran reintegration, particularly in finding meaningful employment. By fostering relationships with organizations like the National Park Service, the Legion aims to provide veterans with fulfilling career paths that honor their service.

Finally, he discussed the issue of veteran suicide. He spoke about the Legion's "Be the One" campaign, which seeks to prevent veteran suicide through awareness and support, demonstrating the Legion's commitment to addressing this critical issue.
