Jeff Stoffer, Media and Communications Director for the American Legion, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss the October issue of the American Legion Magazine.

Stoffer discussed an article that explores job recruitment efforts for veterans, including the Biden administration’s Trucking Action Plan, which strives to bring more veterans into the trucking industry. He talked about the nation’s truck driver shortage, which currently stands at 80,000 but could grow to 300,000 in the next 10 years, and how veteran recruitment could help alleviate the problem.

Stoffer also spoke about the American Legion’s “Be the One” campaign to address the veteran suicide epidemic, and an article about one veteran’s experience with equine therapy.
