Dean Nicosia, Operations Manager at TM Design Corp in Rochester, N.Y., joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss the company's union printing and embroidery services. He also explained why the company's owner chose to go union.

In the early 1990s, Nicosia, a college student employed at a local pizza chain, began working with TM Design Corp owner Todd Walbridge, producing shirts in an attic. Nicosia explained how they adapted to meet demand and, as the company grew, work with unions.

Nicosia explained how in order to attract new employees to the company, Wallbridge sought representation through the Printing Packaging and Production Workers Union of North America (PPPWU) Local 503. He discussed the union's process of representing the TM Design team and what union representation has meant for the company’s employees.

Finally, Nicosia discussed how unions can work with TM Design Corp to produce union merchandise. He said those looking for union-made shirts should visit their website, www.unionshirts.com. Nicosia said it does not matter if someone already has a design; the TM Design team will help them.

To hear more from Nicosia, please listen to the show above.
