Texas AFL-CIO Deputy Director of Politics and Policy Ana Gonzalez appeared on the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed anti-worker legislation proposed by the Texas legislature.

Gonzalez said members of the Texas legislature are attacking workers. If proposed legislation becomes law, workers may lose benefits gained through collective bargaining. For instance, there is no law in Texas that requires employers to give construction workers a water break. The Texas AFL-CIO is attempting to preemptively stop this attack and help keep workers safe.

She then explained there is a House Bill looking to increase state authority and minimize local control. The goal is to stop cities from passing or enforcing more restrictive rules
