Chris O’ Keefe, the Business Manager and Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Ironworkers Local 384 in Knoxville joined us on the AWF Union Podcast.

O’Keefe discussed the Local’s current initiative of worker safety. As an individual who was originally a non-union worker he gave several points on the importance of proper safety training. The training and other related opportunities will aid in organizing more workers. This includes travelers who he said have helped double the size of the people working in the Local 384 jurisdiction.

He further stressed that the time to work union is now, due to the many jobs available for the ironworkers of Local 384.
