Tim Burga, President of the Ohio American Federation of Labor, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the importance of the Ohio’s new minimum wage increase. 

Ohio’s minimum wage had not been raised in over a decade and Burge explained how it will benefit Ohio workers. 

He then spoke about an attempt by the outgoing state legislature to make it more difficult for a citizen-submitted change to Ohio’s Constitution to pass. 

Burga also addressed House Bill 458, which was passed by the legislature and awaits the signature of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. The bill, among other things, would eliminate most August special elections, require all voters to show photo identification, allow only one ballot drop box per county and shorten the time a voter has to request and return an absentee ballot.
