Tim Burga, President of the Ohio AFL-CIO, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss the issues and races on today’s ballot that could impact labor in Ohio.

On this election day, Burga discussed the labor issues on the Ohio ballot. He started by discussing the race to reelect U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown. Burga talked about the pro-union sentiment around Sen. Brown and how he has assisted unions in the past.

While Sen. Brown’s race has been a focus for labor in Ohio, Issue 1 impacts all Ohioans, Burga said. He talked about the potentially misleading wording on the ballot that could impact the vote.

Burga talked about the education efforts provided by the Ohio AFL-CIO and its affiliate unions during the lead-up to the election. According to Burga, these educational efforts have been the top priority for most of this year and have been positively received.
