With President Joe Biden winning the 2020 Presidential Election, the U.S. is moving towards being a producer of green energy. Companies are taking notice and are investing in green technologies.

One of the companies leading the way in green technology is the Melink Corporation. Melink Corporation CEO Steve Melink joined AWF Union Podcast to introduce the company, discuss the new infrastructure plan and more.

What is the Melink Corporation?

The Melink Corporation provides energy efficiency solutions. They do so by building controls and doing HVAC testing, solar photovoltaic projects, geothermal energy projects and more.

Melink said they help commercial building owners maximize the efficiency of their property by getting them ahead of the curve when it comes to green technology. Companies are seeing this as the future, especially since the large price reduction of these energies.

The Biden infrastructure plan

Melink said he is encouraged by the American Jobs Act, President Biden’s infrastructure plan.

The Biden plan promotes and incentivizes green energy solutions, such as those provided by the Melink Corporation. The grid is currently dominated by fossil fuel sources, so Melink is pleased to see mandates of green infrastructure.

Additionally, the electric vehicle market is on the rise. The plan includes funding for electric vehicle manufacturers and is a positive sign for those in the green energy sector.

Greenwashing and progress in green technology

Melink said many companies are attempting to greenwash their public image. This means companies posing as eco-friendly, who actually are not. This can be spotted in companies who use ‘clean coal’ or participate in ‘carbon capture’ projects.

Bringing along conservatives who rally behind the fossil fuel industry has been tough. While the money from the fossil fuel industry continues to roll in, green energy has been made cheaper and more accessible. He said using this fact will be key when convincing fossil fuel advocates.
