United Steelworkers (USW) International Vice President of Human Affairs Kevin Mapp joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the substantial increase in jobs created during the first two years of the Biden Administration thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) and Science Act.

While it is too early to estimate a specific figure for the number of Steelworker jobs created, they have helped revive the economy, Mapp said.

He then spoke about the mid-term elections and the efforts of USW members to canvas for USW-endorsed candidates, many of whom were successfully elected to office.

He touched on the AFL-CIO Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference, which will be held in person this January for the first time in two years.
