Scott Paul, President of Alliance for American Manufacturing, appeared on America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the new House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party.

The committee is chaired by Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) who, Paul said, has done an adequate job of staying mutual in order to move the committee forward. He hopes to see the committee enhance America’s economic competitiveness and national security.

Paul believes the committee will succeed if the members of Congress understand the financial impact and hardship that comes with losing a job. The past U.S. trade policy toward the Chinese government has cost numerous hard-working Americans their careers, Paul said. Action must be taken to stop this pattern, he added.

Aside from the new Select Committee, solar manufacturing tax credits are paying off. As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, solar manufacturing plants are being built all over the U.S. As a result, the entire country will be producing thousands of jobs and a healthier environment.
