U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss the impact of President Biden’s sanctions against Russia as punishment for the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Brown said the President has done a tremendous job of uniting allies against Russia through crippling sanctions. The world is pushing back against Russian aggression, and Biden is putting together one of the strongest coalitions the world has ever seen in opposition to a super power, if Russia can still be called a super power, he added.

Brown then talked about Biden’s efforts to combat higher gas prices brought on by the Russian invasion through the release of U.S. oil reserves. Biden is doing everything he legally can to control prices at the pump, he said.

Brown also spoke about the Build Back Better budget reconciliation bill. He said many provisions of the bill will return under a different name, including the Child Tax Credit, affordable childcare and money for housing.

Lastly, Brown discussed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Through the U.S. Department of Education, Brown is hosting seminars to ensure Ohio receives a substantial portion of the funding to rebuild its bridges and highways, he added.
