Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 942 Business Manager and Secretary-Treasurer Scott Eickholt joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed how Alaskan politicians prevented the state enacting from So-Called “Right to Work” laws despite being a predominantly political red state.
Local 942 represents about 1,000 workers in Alaska.
Eickholt explained how the Local maintains labor friendly ties to numerous Republican politicians who have officially taken So-Called “Right to Work” legislation off the party’s agenda.
He also discussed the need to boost oil and gas production in Alaska, given global sanctions on Russian oil and the need for the U.S. to achieve energy independence.
