Jeff Stoffer, Director of Media and Communications for the American Legion, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss the December edition of the American Legion Magazine.

One of the stories in the next American Legion Magazine highlights the rise in veterans falling victim to digital scams. Stoffer explained how the author discusses the potential reasons behind veterans' vulnerability. While the story is focused explicitly on veterans' vulnerabilities, Stoffer quickly pointed out that this is happening to seniors and the working class at a higher rate than average.

Another story highlighted by Stoffer is about Dustoff crews that have been awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. He explained how these Dustoff crews became a crucial piece in saving the lives of military members during the Vietnam War. Stoffer said these crews saved more than 900,000 lives from 1962 to 1973.

Finally, Stoffer talked about the American Legion’s associate sponsorship that will begin during this year's Army-Navy Game, the 125th rendition of the storied rivalry. Stoffer discussed the excitement from both sides of “America’s Game” and the connection between the Legion and the two military academies. The Legion becomes the first veteran organization to become an associate sponsor for the oldest rivalry in college football.
