Veterans Administration Council for Crisis Response Director Ben Speight discussed upcoming Labor Day rallies and fighting for better contracts on the Sept. 3 episode of America’s Work Force Radio Podcast.
He started by talking about the VA staff that have continued to work despite the COVID-19 pandemic. He wanted to bring attention to the lack of quality resources and how little attention has been given to the issue.
He then talked about the various mobilizations by American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE).
He said that multiple AFGE local unions are planning to hold physically distanced rallies in honor of Labor Day.
Speight then spoke about VA employees needing a new contract. He said that more attention and funding needs to be directed towards VA staff members. Increased funding will help them to provide a better service for American veterans.
