U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to provide updates from the United States Senate. Brown talked about the new funding package passed by the Senate and his work with Central Ohio unions and prevent delays on projects depending on the CHIPS Act.
Sen. Brown is working on “making things happen” by reaching across the aisle to help develop a funding package to invest in essential priorities. The U.S. Senate passed the funding package with bipartisan support as a part of a larger appropriations bill. Brown discussed how both sides of the aisle worked together to pass the bill and discussed some of the funding included in the package.
The appropriations bill must now go to the House for approval. Brown is hopeful the bill won’t face much opposition. If there is enough public support for the bill, it could help encourage House Republicans to reach across the aisle to make the right moves and pass the bill.
Always looking into the future and hoping to prevent unnecessary delays on the megaprojects funded by the CHIPS Act. Sen. Brown is seeking to cut the red tape before any delays occur. The bill's language allows for a streamlined process and avoids unnecessary delay, Brown said. To ensure it stays this way, Brown has proposed legislation that would prevent any changes to the language in the bill that might cause future issues for construction projects.
