U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss his work in the Senate and what he’s done to help retirees and union members around the country.
Brown discussed his past efforts to lower drug prices for Medicare recipients. He talked about working with retirees in Ohio, where he would take busloads of retirees to Canada to fill their prescriptions at a lower cost.
Not only has Brown worked with retirees to lower their drug expenses, but he has also helped several Local unions across the state protect their pensions. He discussed his work with several Locals, including Iron Workers Local 17 in Cleveland, to ensure members retained their pensions.
Finally, Brown discussed what he’s doing to alleviate trade concerns with foreign countries. Among the targets are steel and vehicles manufactured in China being dumped in the U.S. market.
