Texas AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Leonard Aguilar joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed last week’s tragic mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas and how the Texas AFL-CIO supported the Uvalde community by providing free plates of food on Memorial Day.
Aguilar is also Executive Director of the Texas Building and Construction Trades Council and former Political Director of the Southwest Pipe Trades Association.
He recounted how during the hours after the shooting, Texas AFL-CIO officials were pooling resources to figure out how best to support the community. On Memorial Day, the Texas AFL-CIO handed out 600 to 700 plates of barbeque to Uvalde community members.
He urged listeners to help support victims of the shooting through the Texas AFL-CIO.
