Jeff Stoffer, Media and Communications Director for the American Legion, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the Task Force Movement, a coalition launched by the White House to connect veterans and transitioning military members with careers in the trucking and cyber security industries.

The task force strives to fill critical needs in today’s economy, strengthen the supply chain and close the labor gap. Stoffer explained most military personnel tend to already have experience in these areas, particularly in trucking, so it is a great fit. Throught the Task Force Movement, veterans can quickly qualify for industry apprenticeships and begin great careers, he added.

Stoffer then outlined a couple of articles in the upcoming January issue of The American Legion Magazine, including a piece about the veteran online gaming community called Regiment Gaming. He also previewed an article about the renaming of Oregon Route 35 to the Oregon Nisei Veterans World War II Memorial Highway in honor of Japanese American World War II veterans, whose families were imprisoned in internment camps.
