Amtrak has proposed a workforce reduction, as the company wants to reduce its two-person crew with a single engineer. According to Regan, this would mean the elimination of the conductor, a move he called unsafe. Regan then spoke about his optimism surrounding future transportation regulations with the new House and Senate in place.
