Joyce Goldstein, a labor and employee benefits lawyer at Joyce Goldstein & Associates, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed a September decision by the Ohio Supreme Court that ruled unions can picket outside the home and workplaces of public officials during a labor dispute.
Chapter 4117 of Ohio’s Public Employees' Collective Bargaining Code made it an unfair labor practice to induce or encourage any individual in connection to a labor dispute to engage in the residential picketing of the home or private workplace of a public official.
Goldstein shared her own experience litigating the law for United Electrical Workers, which picketed the home of the Executive Director of the Ohio Turnpike Commission in 1993.
