Ohio Federation of Teachers (OFT) President Melissa Cropper joined the America’s WorkForce Union Podcast and discussed the OFT’s response to a new Ohio law that grants local boards of education the authority to decide whether to allow their teachers and school workers to carry firearms.
Cropper described House Bill 99 as “ludicrous” and said Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, has done absolutely nothing to address gun violence.
She also talked about the AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention and a recent decision by Equitas Healthcare Workers’ who filed for a union election to join the OFT.
