North Coast Area Labor Federation President Pat Gallagher made his regular appearance on the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the results a new four-year Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. and the United Steelworkers (USW).
Gallagher also serves as Sub-District Director for USW District 1.
Overwhelmingly ratified by the membership on Oct. 12, the CBA includes a wage increase of 20 percent, improves insurance benefits for active and retired workers, increases the pension benefits and adds vacation time and holiday leave.
Gallagher credited the USW’s good relationship with management for the successful contract. He feels the the company is not anti-union and believes in the value of its workers.
