The lawsuit argues that this change violates Ohio's constitution, specifically the single-subject and three-reading rules, as it was inserted into an unrelated budget bill without proper public scrutiny.
Cropper also highlighted ongoing issues with Equitas Health, where unionized employees face unfair treatment. Despite successful unionization efforts, Equitas offers only a 1 percent raise to union staff while non-union employees receive 3 percent. The company claims this disparity is due to pending unfair labor practice charges, which Cropper sees as retaliation against union activity. The Ohio Federation of Teachers is mobilizing collective action to push for fair contract negotiations and wage increases.
