United Labor Agency (ULA) Executive Director David Megenhardt joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and explained his belief that despite the talk of a looming recession, the job market will continue to be ripe with career opportunities.
The job market is tight and hot, and workers continue to have the upper hand, Megenhardt said. The Federal Reserve Bank wants to tamp down inflation, but their adjustments have yet to hit the labor market, he explained. He encouraged anyone who wants to enter or re-enter the workforce to take advantage of the current opportunities and advance their careers.
Megenhardt also talked about informational sessions held on behalf of Cleveland Builds, which took place throughout the community. Cleveland Builds is a pre-apprenticeship program that encourages women and minorities to begin a career in the building trades. The next informational session will be held on Nov. 10 at the East Cleveland Public Library.
