The Alliance for Retired Americans Executive Director Richard Fiesta joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the provision written into the Inflation Reduction Act that allows Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs, and the impact this will have on senior healthcare.

Fiesta detailed how the law would benefit medicare recipients, including capping insulin costs at $35 a month and providing free, essential vaccines.

He also spoke about the need to oppose the re-election of U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who has proposed that funding for Social Security and Medicare be approved by Congress annually instead of being automatically renewed.
