Mechanical Insulators Labor Management Cooperative Trust (LMCT) Executive Director Pete Ielmini joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the LMCT’s four-day Firestop Market Recovery Program, which took place in Pennsylvania between members of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers and their signatory contractors.
The purpose of the course was to develop a core strategy to capture more firestop work, Ielmini said. He stressed the importance of properly installed firestop and smoke seal products measures to protect buildings and save lives.
Ielmini also acknowledged the recent passing of the IAHFIAW General President Emeritus James Grogan, Jr., whom he said was one of the greatest labor leaders to ever serve the union movement.
