Ed Caines, Business Manager for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 926, appeared on the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and spoke about the Local’s apprenticeship program.
IUOE Local 926 represents about 2,000 members.
Caines detailed the benefits of the Local 926 apprenticeship program, including improved pension plans, an opporunity to live a middle class life and the earn while you learn apprenticeship model.
He also discussed efforts by the Local to recruit apprentices by visiting high school career centers and community job fairs.
