Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary-Treasurer Dorsey Hager joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and spoke about a potential October groundbreaking ceremony for the Intel plant project in Licking County, Ohio.
He believes the event will likely take place in early October. Prior to the event, Hager expects the work to slowly ramp up, especially after Labor Day. The site will be home to more than just the fabs. It will hold a water treatment plant, office buildings and other important infrastructure.
This past week, 30 different Intel suppliers visited Central Ohio and looked at the availability of land where they could either build a plant or relocate existing services into an existing structure in order to serve Intel, Hager said.
He also provided a recap on Ohio’s second Primary election. Kelly Harrop, C/COBCTC Communications and Outreach Director, ran as a Democrat for a seat in 3rd District. Right now, she trails by 37 votes with 500 votes not counted.
