Bill Samuel, Government Affairs Director for the AFL-CIO, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the Innovation Act and the need for the government to invest in America’s manufacturing sector.
Samuel believes Republican opposition to the legislation will ultimately erode as they do not want to return to their districts opposing legislation that will create jobs. He said passage of the bill could usher in a new renaissance of industry in domestic manufacturing.
Samuel talked about the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act and proposed legislation to increase the National Labor Relations Board budget by $300 million.
