Joyce Goldstein, labor lawyer at Joyce Goldstein Associates, appeared on the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and spoke on her efforts to educate employers on the right of workers to join a union.
There is a misconception that workers only unionize to demand increased wages or improved working conditions, said Goldstein. However, it is not unusual for employees to organize because they believe it will give them a voice or level the playing field between themselves and their employer.
She then explained why employers should remain neutral when informed of their employees’ desires to unionize.
