Joseph “Chad” Mills, State Director of the Kentucky State Building and Construction Trades Council and Business Manager of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 633, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed how only union construction workers will build Ford’s $5.8 billion electric battery campus in Kentucky.

Ford signed a National Maintenance Agreement to use union labor to build and maintain the facilities, which will create 4,500 union construction jobs and 5,000 jobs for United Auto Workers (UAW) members.

Mills also spoke about recruitment efforts to grow apprenticeship programs, the challenges of organizing in a So-Called “Right to Work” state and the political makeup of Kentucky.
