Administrative Director of the Communications Workers of America District 4, Frank Mathews, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast to discuss the potential issues that could befall unions if Project 2025 were to be implemented and what the union is doing to educate members about the anti-union and anti-worker policies proposed in the conservative manifesto.
With the release of Project 2025, individuals within the labor movement have analyzed the document for potential risks to members and unions. Mathews discussed the document and what went in to the CWA’s research of the policies within.
After reviewing the document, the CWA highlighted several potentially problematic proposals within it. Mathews outlined why these policies raised red flags for union members and why unions should work to educate their members on these issues. To assist, the CWA offers a helpful flyer with policies mentioned in the document and their page numbers, and Mathews recommended that anyone who is interested in learning more about the document visit this page.
Finally, Mathews discussed the pro-worker and pro-union work records of Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.). He discussed the CWA’s endorsement process of Harris following the announcement that President Joe Biden would not seek re-election.
