Carpenters Local 212 President Samuel Caraballoso joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed the role of concrete carpenters and the contributions they make to the New York City skyline.

Concrete carpenters specialize in high-rise structures and build forms now manufactured from steel, which were traditionally manufactured from wood, Caraballoso said. He explained how the job has evolved over the years and the critical importance of safety training, as workers often work at great heights.
Caraballoso also detailed the history of Local 212, which is only six years old, and how it came into existence.
