Jeff Stoffer, Media and Communications Director for The American Legion, joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and gave an update on the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act that, if passed, would protect veterans exposed to burn pits, radiation and agent orange.
Stoffer believes the legislation was close to becoming reality, but had it to be sent back to the U.S. House due to a technical correction. It again passed the House and now returns to the U.S. Senate. He talked about the likelihood of the bill advancing to President Biden’s desk and what it will mean for veteran healthcare.
Stoffer also provided an overview of the August issue of the American Legion Magazine, including an article exploring college institutions who abuse the G.I. Bill, an article on broken citizenship promises to immigrant veterans and an article on the Sons of the American Legion.
