Mechanical Insulators Labor Management Cooperative Trust (LMCT) Executive Director Pete Ielmini joined the America’s Work Force Union Podcast and discussed why people should reflect on the labor movement and what it has delivered to working families this Labor Day weekend.

For many, Labor Day may represent the end of summer and the start of the football season. However, the holiday is actually a celebration of the labor movement that brought about the eight hour work day, workers compensation laws and the right to a safe workplace, Ielmini said. He encouraged listeners to reflect on the contributions unions have made for working people over the last 200 years.

Ielmini also talked about the importance of mechanical insulation in reducing the use of fossil fuels.
